LANAP (Laser-Assisted New Attachment Procedure) is an innovative laser therapy used for the treatment of gum disease. It involves the use of a specialized dental laser to selectively remove diseased gum tissue and bacteria from the gums, without harming healthy tissue. LANAP promotes the natural regeneration of gum tissue and bone, leading to improved gum health and reduced gum disease symptoms.

How does LANAP work?

LANAP uses a laser to remove only diseased gum tissue and specifically targets the bacteria primarily responsible for gum disease. The result is a painless process with less bleeding than traditional gum disease surgery.

Does LANAP hurt?

When the LANAP procedure begins, the areas being treated will be numbed so that you feel nothing. As a minimally invasive procedure, there are no cuts, no stitches, and minimal bleeding.

What should I expect with LANAP treatment?

We’ll start by measuring your gums’ pockets to check the severity of gum disease. Using a laser, gum-disease-causing bacteria are killed without damaging healthy tissue. Bacterial deposits are then removed from below the gum line. Finally, bacterial deposits are removed from below the gum line. Ultrasonic instruments will remove the tartar.
